1940 Lincoln Zephyr V-12 3 Window Coupe showing 63,107 miles offered by Gas Monkey Garage!

Fresh out of long-term private collection, this extremely rare 2 seat (1 of only 1,256 3 Window Coupes built) 1940 Lincoln Zephyr V-12 is in remarkable, unrestored condition! It runs and drives well and the chassis is solid with firm brakes and tight steering. The doors, hood and trunk are solid with good alignment fitment and open and close effortlessly.

Interior photos reveal a complete dash with most trim present and in good condition. The seats and door panels, while complete, are in need of a straightforward cosmetic refurbishment making for an easy restoration back to the glorious Art Deco presence!

Exterior pics show a solid body that is straight and shows well enough as is with minor paint blemishes that would be an easy cosmetic restoration with most trim present and in good, usable condition!

The engine compartment reveals the complete and fairly original 292 CID V-12 engine that runs smoothly and quietly having been maintained correctly throughout the years.

Under side pics show the solid and fairly original chassis that is in good mechanical condition with minor superficial rust present on most mechanical components (see all 100+ pics)!

Introduced as a 1936 model, the Lincoln-Zephyr was extremely modern with a low raked windscreen, integrated fenders, and streamlined aerodynamic design, which influenced the name Zephyr derived from the Greek word Zephyrus, or the god of the west wind. It was one of the first successful streamlined cars after the Chrysler Airflow's market resistance, and the concept car Pierce Silver Arrow, which never went into production. In fact, the Lincoln-Zephyr actually had a lower coefficient of drag than the Airflow, due in part to the prow-like front grille on the Zephyr, reflecting the popularity of leisure speedboats like Chris-Craft. The Lincoln-Zephyr succeeded in reigniting sales at Lincoln dealerships in the late 1930's and 1940's until production of all American cars was halted in 1942 as the country entered World War II.

While this phenomenal, unrestored 1940 Lincoln Zephyr Coupe runs and drives well, it should be completely inspected and serviced prior to any extend driving to ensure safety and reliability ( due to our filming schedule, we are unable to perform any additional work on this car or build it for you, sold as is/where is).
