1936 Lincoln V12 K Series Limousine offered by Gas Monkey Garage!
The Lincoln K series (also called the Lincoln Model K, in line with Ford nomenclature) is a luxury vehicle that was produced by the Lincoln Motor Company. Built on a modernized chassis on a longer wheelbase, In 1931 Lincoln introduced the V-12 engine, becoming the signature of the company for nearly 20 years.
One of the most exclusive vehicles produced in the United States during the 1930s, the Model K competed against the Cadillac V-12 and V-16, Packard, Chrysler Imperial, Pierce-Arrow and the Duesenberg. Alongside multiple body configurations produced by Lincoln in its Detroit assembly facility, bare chassis were provided for coachbuilders for bespoke bodywork similar to Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Bugatti.
Produced as a long-wheelbase version of the Lincoln-Zephyr, Lincoln ended production of the Model K at the end of 1939
This nicely preserved example of the 1936 Lincoln V12 Limousine is eligible for Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) entry and competition! Having been maintained and stored for years by the previous owner, it is in remarkable condition for an 86 year old example of the crown jewel of Henry Fords opulent Art Deco presentation!
Exterior photos show a straight and solid body with a nicely preserved example that shows well with bright work that is in good condition and complete. The paint is in good condition with some areas that are chipped due to age.
The interior is complete and shows well with good wood trim and hardware. There is evidence of moth damage to the Mohair fabric ( see all 100+ pics). The dash, trim, carpets and panels are in good condition and the Mohair upholstery is ready for an easy, straightforward renovation back to the grandeur of a past era!
The original V12 engine fired right up with a new battery and fresh gas and it idles as smoothly and quietly as a kitten!
Underside pics reveal an incredibly clean and solid chassis that would be right at home on mirrors in a museum! The components are clean and with a quick wipe down would return to show room condition!
While this really nice example of the iconic 1936 Lincoln V12 Model K Limousine does run and drive, it is not perfect. The paint does have some small areas that are flaking and could be repaired or repainted. The interior is in good, complete condition but there is moth damage to the Mohair that would be easily refurbished. And while it does run and drive, it has been stored for many years and will need to be completely inspected and serviced prior to any extended driving to ensure safety and reliability and due to our filming schedule, we are unable to perform any additional work on this this Lincoln or restore it for you.
